Staff profiles: Heather Mactaggart

Heather Mactaggart knows the ins and outs of Michigan State Tennis.

From her days as a member of the women’s tennis team to her 14-year stint as the head coach and, most recently, her job as the manager of the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility, Mactaggart has kept her fingertips on the pulse of all things tennis.

“I’m still close to watching both the men’s and the women’s teams play,” she says. “I help out in some of the programming we have here when we need an extra person on the court. Being a part of it is still a great opportunity for me.”

Now that her focus is on the tennis facility, she hopes to make her patrons’ experiences there as enjoyable as possible.

“We try to make the time when people are here the best part of their day,” she says. “Whether you’re coming here to pick up your tennis racket from being restrung, play cardio tennis, or take a tennis lesson, we want it to be good. So we go the extra mile to talk to people personally and to give good customer service.”
