The Michigan State University Department of Police and Public Safety will test a new weather-warning system at noon Friday, June 10. The alarm is positioned on the Manly Miles Building, which is located on the west side of the MSU campus at the corner of Harrison Avenue and Crescent Road.
MSU is in the process of replacing its existing weather-warning sirens and adding one additional siren. The other sirens will be located at the Chemistry Building, Kellogg Center and Farms Maintenance Complex. As the new sirens are installed they will be tested, one at a time, over the next couple of weeks.
Should weather be a threat at the scheduled time, the test will be postponed to the next nonthreatening day.
The test will last approximately one minute.
