MSU boasts 6 undergraduate programs among best in nation 

Undergraduate supply chain management ranked No. 1 for 15th year

With the release of U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 edition of Best Colleges, Michigan State University has six undergraduate programs ranked in the top 25 in the nation, an increase of two programs over last year’s rankings. The rankings are based strictly on reputational surveys completed by peer institutions.

“Providing students a transformative education and equipping them with the skills and experience necessary to thrive in an ever-changing global landscape is at the heart of what we do here at Michigan State,” said President Kevin M. Guskiewicz, Ph.D. “These rankings are a testament to our outstanding faculty and staff who continue to expand opportunities for student success.”

MSU ranks No. 64 overall and No. 29 among public institutions in the “National Universities” category, marking the third year in a row of earning a top 30 public university ranking.

U.S. News & World Report ranks the following MSU undergraduate programs in the nation’s top 25:

  • No. 1 overall and among public institutions: Supply chain management

  • No. 7 overall and No. 4 among public institutions: Production/operations

  • No. 16 overall and No. 10 among public institutions: Management

  • No. 21 overall and No. 9 among public institutions: International business

  • No. 22 overall and No. 13 among public institutions: Accounting

  • No. 24 overall and No. 14 among public institutions: Undergraduate business

MSU’s undergraduate supply chain management program — housed within the Broad College of Business — maintained its No. 1 ranking for the 15th consecutive year.

“Broad’s prominence in national rankings represents important milestones along our journey toward the college’s vision for excellence,” said David Souder, the Eli and Edythe L. Broad Dean of the Broad College of Business. “They reflect how Broad Spartans work together to generate ideas, experiences and connections that make a lasting impact on students, business and society worldwide.”

The university is ranked in the top 10 in three student engagement categories, including two ranked first among public institutions:

  • No. 4 overall and No. 2 among public institutions: Learning communities

  • No. 6 overall and No. 1 among public institutions: Service learning

  • No. 10 overall and No. 1 among public institutions: Education abroad
