MSU DPPS Citizen’s Police Academy is an eight-week class that meets each Wednesday in the fall semester for two hours. Comprising faculty, staff, students and community members, participants receive a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the MSU Department of Police and Public Safety. Captain Florene McGlothian-Taylor, who oversees diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging efforts as well as strategic recruitment initiatives, has overseen the academy for three years. Travel at State Day is an annual event that provides opportunities for MSU employees to attend multiple courses teaching Concur Request, Travel and Expense. The 2024 event was held at the Henry Center.
