The Anti-Racist Path Series is a weekly course that invites individuals to commit or re-commit to anti-racism.
The series is seeking more participants, with a capacity of 40 people. Once the series becomes full, a waitlist will be collected.
Participants will practice noticing, naming, and deconstructing racism and explore collective and individual interventions for dismantling white supremacy. By the end of the series, participants will challenge themselves to:
- Locate your relationship to/role in anti-racism by exploring concepts like the cycle of socialization, accountability, developing quality relationships across differences, and more.
- Develop skills to recognize and navigate a full range of human emotions related to justice work.
- Analyze the destructiveness and persistence of white supremacy using the framework of the four levels of oppression: individual, interpersonal, systemic/institutional, and cultural/ideological and the characteristics of white supremacy culture.
- Engage in a community of co-learners to build capacity and support for continued action.
The series will begin with an orientation on Oct. 4 from 3-5pm. The course continue on Wednesdays from 3-5pm until Nov. 15, taking place in Brody Hall Room 175.
