While finals week isn’t always fun, the MSU Libraries host a variety of events that help make the weeks leading up to the end of the semester a more paw-sitive experience. At the Main and Gast Business Libraries, students had the opportunity to take a break from studying to interact with cuddly therapy dogs. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
The sculpture “Orpheus”, in front of the Wharton Center for Performing Arts, provides a window from which to admire a field of daffodils. Installed in 1979 and a dizzying 35 feet tall, “Orpheus” was created by MSU art professor Mel Leiserowitz. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
U.S. Sens. Debbie Stabenow, of Michigan, and John Boozman, of Arkansas, gathered with farmers and leaders from across Michigan in the MSU Stem Teaching and Learning Facility to hold the first hearing of the 2023 Farm Bill. As a leading institution for agriculture research and innovation, MSU also hosted the final signing of the 2014 Farm Bill by President Barack Obama. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.

"Beneath the pines we’ll gather" — and take in an idyllic view of campus while we do so. For those attending commencement ceremonies this weekend, perhaps it’s also the perfect place to brush up on your knowledge of "MSU Shadows," the MSU alma mater. Sing it like nobody’s listening — there’s a good chance your fellow Spartans might join in. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
Whether seen from below the tower or atop it, the plaza of Beaumont Tower is certainly one of the most beautiful spots on campus. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
The interior of Beaumont Tower matches the exterior in historic beauty. Though the gentle glow of the windows gives the image a tranquil feel, it wouldn’t be complete without the clanging bells of the carillon! Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
A picture with MSU President Stanley Samuel L. Stanley Jr., M.D., was in high demand at the Annual Senior Reception at Cowles House, as over 400 seniors joined the president for the perfect graduation photo op. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
While the end of a semester is often bittersweet, it’s also an opportunity for a new beginning — like tiny leaves sprouting on a tree. New growth is just around the corner. Photo by Derrick L. Turner.
