Michigan State University researchers have helped create a new framework to further science’s understanding of the complex interconnections between human activities and the natural world.
The new framework provides a more holistic view of ecosystems, bucking conventional wisdom that states the closer things are, the tighter their connection, which may give too much power to proximity.
By instead spanning local and global scales, the researchers are working to paint a more accurate picture of the world and where it is heading.
