MSU students recognized by prestigious scholarship programs

Jasmine Jordan and Erykah Benson

Michigan State University has one Gates Cambridge Scholar and a national finalist for the Knight-Hennessey Scholars Program.

Jasmine Jordan has been named a Gates Cambridge Scholar. Jordan is an Honors College senior majoring in political science in the College of Social Science. She is a member of the Urban Educator Cohort Program, and is minoring in Educational Studies in the College of Education. She is also minoring in African and African American Studies in the College of Arts and Letters. Jordan is a member of the Social Science Scholars Program and the Political Science Scholars Program in the College of Social Science, and is an Honors Research Scholar in the Honors College. Jordan is one of 24 students selected to be part of the 2021 class of Gates Cambridge Scholars in the Scholarship’s 20th anniversary year. She will pursue an MPhil in Criminological Research at the University of Cambridge.

Erykah Benson is a national finalist for the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship Program, which funds graduate study at Stanford University. Benson is an Honors College senior majoring in interdisciplinary studies in Social Science in the College of Social Science. She is also a Social Science Scholar.
