Susan Masten, professor of civil and environmental engineering at Michigan State University, is one of seven experts appointed to the Corrosion Control Advisory Panel by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, or EGLE.
The panel is charged with advising the agency on strategies to reduce lead in drinking water as efforts to mitigate exposure caused by aging water distribution infrastructure accelerate across the state.
Masten has been developing drinking water treatments for 30 years and is focused on treatment technologies that mitigate lead.
