The week in photos: Sept. 27-Oct. 3, 2020

By: Lisa Mulcrone

While we all wait until it's safe to return to campus, here are some photos from the week to connect you to campus from wherever you are.

But first, a little reminder of the sights and sounds of the Red Cedar River in action. Turn your volume up and relax.

Landon Residence Hall was named after Linda Landon, the first woman instructor on campus, teaching English and serving as a librarian from 1891 to 1932. Photo by Derrick L. Turner
MSU's lanterns are always pretty, but they are stunning when surrounded by fall leaves. Photo by Derrick L. Turner
Linton Hall is the current home of the College of Arts and Letters. One of the oldest buildings on campus, its date, 1881, and its original planned use as “library-museum” are documented by the limestone relief over its west doors. Photo by Derrick L. Turner
Members of the MSU Pilipino American Student Society painted The Rock to celebrate Heritage Month. As President Stanley has said, "We believe our differences are also our assets. We foster a community that respects and celebrates a broad range of backgrounds, viewpoints and experiences. Inclusion happens when everyone in our community sees it as their responsibility to practice and uphold these values."
There are still plenty of green leaves along the Red Cedar River, but the colors are changing every day.
Spartan Stadium awaits the return of football on Oct. 24 when the team takes on Rutgers. Fans will not be allowed to attend games at any Big Ten stadium this season, with a possible exception of student-athlete or staff family members. In addition, tailgating will not be permitted on the Michigan State campus. Photo by Derrick L. Turner
