The Office of the Senior Vice President for Research and Innovation is pleased to announce the appointment of John Goudreau as the new director of the Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute at Michigan State University.
Goudreau comes with an outstanding background in basic, translational and clinical research. He joined the MSU faculty in 2001 and is an associate professor in the Departments of Neurology and Ophthalmology, and Pharmacology and Toxicology. He is a physician-scientist and recognized expert in Parkinson’s disease.
Goudreau was also recently named the associate dean for research in the College of Osteopathic Medicine and co-directs the college’s doctorate-training programs.
He has previously held roles as a National Institute of Health funded preclinical researcher and as a clinical researcher leading multiple NIH and industry-sponsored clinical trials.
Goudreau's CTSI background includes work with the Office of Clinical Research and the Biomedical Research Informatics Core, both of which serve the data needs of investigators, including database building, storage and security, and custom applications development.
