The Richard Lee Featherstone Endowed Prize seeks to identify an outstanding graduating senior and to grant an award to be used for "future growth and development, travel, graduate study, or meditation," to quote one of the Prize founders, Gerald Faverman. In 2019, the amount awarded will be approximately $4,000.
Potential award recipients must be a Michigan State University senior, majoring in any discipline, who is expected to graduate during 2019. Preference is given to those who have exhibited intellectual curiosity, character, leadership and a 3.0 GPA.
To be nominated, students must provide a letter of nomination from an MSU faculty or academic staff member, a personal statement of less than 1,000 words (including a paragraph indicating how the award would be spent) and a resume.
To be considered, applicants must submit their nomination packets as a single attachment to to lfrechen@msu.edu by March 22 at 5 pm. Finalists will be notified for an in-person interview.
