This year’s MSU Federal Credit Union Broadway at Wharton Center season features the premiere engagement of "Hamilton," which will be on the Cobb Great Hall stage for three weeks starting May 14 through June 2, 2019.
“It’s another incredible season matched with many opportunities to engage and connect with artists and the community,” said Mike Brand, executive director.
Adding to the excitement is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s "School of Rock the Musical" and "Love Never Dies," which is the spellbinding sequel to "The Phantom of the Opera." "Fiddler on the Roof," "Anastasia" and "Miss Saigon" round out the series.
The Performing Arts series includes more than two dozen of the top dance, jazz, classical and children’s shows on tour. The beloved and celebrated soprano Renée Fleming, “the people’s diva,” will return, as will the groundbreaking Jessica Lang Dance (after an acclaimed appearance at Wharton Center in 2017); The Monterey Jazz Festival, featuring Cécile McLorin Salvant, Bria Skonberg and many other top artists, will celebrate their 60th Anniversary celebration with us next year; Steve Martin and Martin Short will share non-stop laughs in "An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Life;" Soweto Gospel Choir; Mannheim Steamroller Christmas; Regina Carter; and the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain are all part of the season.
"The Magic School Bus Lost in The Solar System," "The One and Only Ivan" and "Junie B. Jones" are included in the Act One Family Series.
