REHS presentation to address culture of consent

Michigan State University students, staff and faculty will soon have the opportunity to attend the presentation, “Creating a Culture of Consent with Keith Edwards.” This event will be held in the Kellogg Center Auditorium from 6:30 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8

Keith Edwards is a nationally recognized speaker whose presentation focuses on preventing sexual violence on college campuses. This presentation will focus on how the MSU community can work together to develop and maintain a culture of consent.

Edwards has been speaking at college campuses across the nation for over fifteen years. His expertise is in sexual violence prevention, men’s gender identity, social justice education and ally development.

Edwards recognizes the need for a mindset shift when discussing sexual violence; instead of relying on reactive policies to condemn incidents of sexual violence, communities must take proactive, preventative measures to restructure the culture around sexual violence at college campuses like MSU.

Keith Edward’s visit is sponsored by MSU’s Residence Education and Housing Services. The event is free to all attendees and is a great opportunity for the community to engage in a discussion about consent at MSU.

Groups and organizations are strongly encouraged to attend, and can reserve seats by filling using the Google form.
