MSU to host Unified Sports rivalry game against University of Michigan

Michigan State University’s Special Olympics chapter will host the annual Unified Sports Rivalry Series against a team from University of Michigan on Oct. 19 at Munn Field.

Unified Sports joins people with and without disabilities on teams to train for athletic competitions. By connecting Unified Sports to high-profile collegiate rivalries, such as MSU vs. U of M, the Unified Sports Rivalry Series is the marquee event that raises support and awareness for the Special Olympics organization on college campuses around the country.

This year, Unified Sports will recognize MSU’s support for Special Olympics and the Rivalry Series with a national banner presentation.

Event schedule is as follows:

6:30-7 p.m. – Gates open and warm ups

7-7:50 p.m. – Unified Rivalry Series game

7:50-8:10 p.m. – National banner presentation

8:15-9 p.m. – Unified Rivalry alumni game

9-9:10 p.m. – Awards

MSU and U of M will also compete in a fundraising event to benefit Special Olympics Michigan, Inc.
