MSU offers events leading up to Veterans Day

Several of Michigan State University’s organizations devoted to veteran services have organized many events, including Lunch and Learns, a Veterans Day program and more, to take place during the week leading up to the holiday. The events will begin on Monday.

There will be a Lunch and Learn event each day of the week from noon to 1 p.m., starting on Monday. Different topics will be discussed at each event, such as student veteran research, the value of veterans in the workforce, understanding military families and discussing military culture.

“People are encouraged to attend to learn more about our military and veteran population so that they can better serve our students, faculty and staff,” said Jaimie Hutchison, a member of the MSU Veteran Outreach Team.

The final Lunch and Learn event will be a Veterans Day Brunch Celebration at 11 a.m., on Nov. 9 in the MSU Student Union Ballroom. Guests can register to attend the event online.

The organizations are asking that attendees of these events bring a small item to donate if they are able. Donations will go towards sending care packages to military families, active military, veterans and first responders. A list of items to donate can be found here
