Michigan State University will host the second annual “Fascination of Plants Day @ MSU” 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 19 at the Molecular Plant Sciences Building.
The Fascination of Plants Day is a worldwide event promoted by the European Plant Science Organization. It aims to enthuse the public about the importance of plant science in their day-to-day lives – such as in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, etc. The event will take place alongside hundreds of others worldwide.
All of the public are welcome to attend.
Attendees will:
- Experience hands-on activities: on seed growth, what ingredients plants need to develop and how they defend when attacked;
- Learn about plant benefits, beyond food: plant medicinal properties and plant-based industrial products;
- Discover the plant scientist’s lab toolkit: GMOs and how DNA works in plants;
- Meet MSU researchers and about science that goes on at MSU.
