MSU grad earns tuition sweepstakes

MSU‘s Raquel Mishaan, a 2018 graduate with a Masters in public relations from the College of Communication Arts and Sciences, activated her complimentary membership to The Wall Street Journal and was rewarded handsomely.

As part of an official sweepstakes sponsored by The Wall Street Journal's “Don’t Wait” brand campaign, Mishaan, an international student from Guatemala, was awarded $60,000 in prize money to put towards her education.

Mishaan selected Michigan State University for its robust communications program and healthy school-social life balance. Having spent most of her time learning about the advertising and public relations fields through her role as advertising manager at The State News, Mishaan plans to return to Guatemala to start work at an advertising and or public relations agency.

Her ultimate goal is to own and run an agency dedicated to recruiting women and minorities, providing them the relevant experience and opportunities to represent minorities in the workplace.

MSU students, faculty and staff can activate their complimentary WSJ memberships by visiting wsj.com/MichiganState, logging into their school portal and creating an account on the registration page.

Those who currently pay for membership may call 1-800-JOURNAL, and mention they are switching to their membership provided by Michigan State University. Partial refunds will be dispersed.
