MSU debate team finishes in top 32 at Texas tournament

The Michigan State University debate team finished in the top 32 out of 104 teams competing in the Texas Open tournament this week.

Representing MSU were social relations and policy sophomore Luc Walkington and his teammate, Honors College and biosystems engineering freshman Evan Jones. They defeated teams from Dartmouth University, James Madison University, the University of Oklahoma, Wake Forest University and the University of Kansas before being defeated by the No. 1 seeded team from Harvard University.

Also competing for MSU at the Texas Open were: James Madison College freshmen Duvall Adair, Jack Scullion and Ezra Serrins; political theory sophomore Lena Grossmann; social relations sophomore Alex Brown; and zoology sophomore Lauren Pepper.

The MSU debate team is a part of the Honors College.
