Michigan State University is one of the top 100 universities in the world and boasts a variety of elite programs, ranging from plant and animal science, to economics and business, to environmental studies, a new ranking finds.
With the release of 2018 Best Global Universities rankings today, U.S. News & World Report placed MSU #81 out of 1,250 universities. That puts Michigan State in the top 6.5 percent of all universities ranked.
The announcement comes on the heels of the recent Times Higher Education ranking that placed MSU #83 out of 1,102 universities assessed around the world.
U.S. News also ranked universities by subjects and MSU placed in the top 30 in four areas:
- Plant and animal science: #9
- Agricultural sciences: #17
- Economics and business: #26
- Environment/ecology: #30
