MSU Board of Trustees to meet Friday

The Michigan State University Board of Trustees will meet at 9:30 a.m. Friday in the Board Room of the Hannah Administration Building.

Following are some of the items the board will consider.

  • Authorization of planning for the next phases of modernizing power generation on campus including new production capabilities at the T.B. Simon Power Plant.
  • Authorization to proceed with enhancements at Jenison Field House and plan for additions on the Planetarium.
  • Authorization of property transactions in Ingham, Kalamazoo, and Kent counties.

In addition, the board will receive reports from the president and board chairperson, and the gifts, grants and contracts report.

Important note: The MSU Police Department will again use metal detectors to gain entry to trustee meetings. Participants and observers should allow extra time before the meeting for screening; MSU Police recommend they not bring backpacks/purses to speed up entry. This practice began in September based on reviews and recommendations by the MSU Police Department.
