Global Festival 2017 offers community a taste of the world

The 2017 Global Festival is coming to the MSU Union on Sun., Nov. 12  from 1 to 5 p.m., with a special hour of shopping at the World Gift Shop starting at noon.

The Global Festival seeks to engage students, MSU faculty and staff and the greater Lansing community members of all ages in learning about the many cultures represented by international students at MSU.

Students prepare country-specific exhibits featuring cultural artifacts and information, while live performances highlight traditional music, dances and martial arts from around the world.

Attendees can join performers for interactive movement workshops and join in the creation of arts and crafts from abroad. International souvenirs are for sale at the World Gift Shop, where all proceeds benefit international student scholarships.

The MSU Union is located at the corner of Grand River Avenue and Abbot Road. Admission to the festival is free, with parking for free at the Grand River Ramp.

The Global Festival is sponsored by The Office for International Students and Scholars, Community Volunteers for International Programs, MOSAIC, MSU Federal Credit Union, University Activities Board and the MSU Union.
