ComArtSci and WKAR to host World Water Day event March 22

The MSU College of Communication Arts and Sciences and WKAR Public Media are hosting a World Water Day celebration with leading experts Joan Rose, Xiaobo Tan and Bruno Basso on Wednesday. The event is set for 3-4 p.m. in WKAR Studio A, located in the ComArtSci building.

Through a short speed talk and Q&A with the audience, each expert will share their research on water. The topics of research will range from water’s effect on our health to how drones and robofish are making positive changes. The afternoon session will be moderated by Prabu David, dean of the College of Communication Arts and Sciences.

In addition, at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Menachem Elimelech, Roberto Goizueta Professor of Environmental and Chemical Engineering at Yale University, will give an Environmental Science and Policy Program lecture.

World Water Day is about taking action to tackle the global water crisis. Today, there are more than 663 million people living without a safe water supply and coping with the health impacts of using contaminated water.

At MSU, experts in water are tackling issues that impact our health, food and energy. They are also addressing infrastructure, new technologies and data for better decision-making to manage our water resources.

This event will be live streamed at WKAR.org. For more information, visit the ComArtSci news page.
