Views of the moon and the planets Mars and Saturn will be available when Michigan State University’s Abrams Planetarium offers three nights of public viewing.
On Thursday, Abrams staff will set up telescopes outside of the planetarium from 8 to 9:30 p.m. The planetarium is located near the corner of Shaw and Farm Lanes on the MSU campus.
On Friday and Saturday, the planetarium hosts public observing nights at the MSU Observatory, located at the corner of Forest and College Roads on the south side of campus. Viewing times are from 8 to 11 p.m.
In addition to the 24-inch telescope in the dome, several portable telescopes will be set up in the parking lot west of the entrance to the observatory.
