Department of Theatre hosts fundraiser

Sponsored by MSU Friends of Theatre, “The Magic of Theatre” will take place at 6 p.m. June 7 at Fairchild Theatre. Registration opens at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $45 and available online at http://theatre.msu.edu/

The event will support the Summer Circle Kids Camp, which provides a place for children to explore their creative channels.

The event includes food from Woody’s Oasis with a variety of MSU Dairy cheeses and ice cream, dessert from Bake n’ Cakes and wine. In addition to dinner, a silent auction and a raffle, guests will see a sneak preview performance of “A Grand Night for Singing,” with music by Rodgers and Hammerstein. The revue showcases some of musical theater’s most recognizable songs and is the opening production of the 56th season of Summer Circle Theatre. The play will take place at the new Summer Circle Courtyard stage adjacent to Fairchild Theatre.

  • Five one-hour dance lessons from “Our Dance Studio” with Gage Clark

  • Tickets to Mitch Albom’s “Ernie” this summer at Wharton Center and a meeting with actors and the set designer.

  • “Red” and “White” gift baskets, including wine and other gourmet food items.

  • Several other items to be announced

Guests may also purchase $5 raffle tickets for a selection of items that include gift certificates to regional businesses like Creative Wellness, State Room Restaurant, Woody’s, Sparty Bucks for Eat at State and two tickets for Mitch Albom’s new play “Hockey: the Musical," along with tickets from a variety of other mid-Michigan regional theaters.
