Spartan Sessions: MSU Drumline

Aug. 19, 2015

It’s that time of year. As students start moving back to campus, the sounds of the MSU Drumline will soon be heard resonating through the air near Demonstration Hall.

The Drumline is part of the 300-member Spartan Marching Band, one of the oldest and most recognized university marching bands in the country. The band was founded in 1870 as a 10-member student group and since then has grown into one of the premiere college bands in the nation.

The Drumline, a favorite of audiences, is internationally renowned for its history of musical excellence, rich tradition and dedication to its community and university.

If you can’t make it back to campus to watch the Drumline gear up for the season, check out the great video above put together by students at The Impact, MSU’s award-winning radio station. The Impact is one of the nation’s largest college radio stations with more than 300 students working for volunteering at the student-run media outlet.

The MSU Drumline video is part of their Spartan Sessions video series.
