Faculty Emeriti Association recognizes CANR and retired faculty member

The Michigan State University Faculty Emeriti Association is recognizing the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and CANR professor emeritus P. Vincent Hegarty with their two most prestigious awards.

The FEA works to promote and facilitate the active involvement of Faculty Emeriti in the MSU community.

The FEA selected CANR for the 2104-2015 Outstanding Contributions by a Unit Award. This award recognizes an academic entity that excels in integrating faculty emeriti into daily activities at MSU and supporting academic opportunities for faculty emeriti.

P. Vincent Hegarty is the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution by an Individual Award. This award recognizes a faculty emeritus/emerita who continues to serve MSU and foster active engagement from other faculty emeriti in the MSU community.

P. Vincent Hegarty exemplifies this award in his role as the professor emeritus in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition. He is also the founding director of the International Food Law Program and the Institute for Food Laws & Regulations at MSU.

Both CANR and Professor Hegarty were honored at the Academic Retirement Luncheon on Tuesday, April 14. To learn more about the awards, visit MSU’s FEA site.
