Temple Grandin, professor of animal science at Colorado State University and well-known author, will speak at MSU March 11.
Grandin’s presentation titled “Making Decisions about Animal Welfare and Food: Is Big Always Bad and Small Always Good?” will take place at 7:30 p.m. in room 1281 of Anthony Hall.
Grandin’s research and writings on the principles of grazing animal behavior have helped many farmers and ranchers to reduce stress on livestock during handling. In 2010, Time Magazine named Grandin one of the 100 most influential people. Her life was captured in an HBO movie titled “Temple Grandin” that won seven Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe.
This seminar is free to the public. For more information, contact the Department of Animal Science at (517) 353-8383.
