MSUFCU joins the fight to cure type 1 diabetes in JDRF Walk

On Aug. 2, MSUFCU employees, family, and friends joined together in the fight to cure type 1 diabetes, or T1D, at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Walk to Cure Diabetes. Team MSUFCU raised more than $5,000 in support of the cause and boasted nearly 75 individuals who participated in the walk. MSUFCU also served as a corporate sponsor for the event.

Because of MSUFCU’s commitment to the community, employees worked together throughout the summer to support this cause. Employees proved that a little bit can go a long way by raising more than $5,000 through various fundraising activities. Additionally, MSUFCU’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, April Clobes served as the event’s Corporate Chair, alongside Honorary Chair and MSU Head Football Coach, Mark Dantonio.

“I’m proud to say that we were able to take part in this effort by supporting those with type 1 diabetes as well as their families and the researchers working to find a cure,” Clobes said. “The Credit Union would not be where it is today if it wasn’t for the dedicated employees who show their commitment to the community by supporting causes like JDRF and the Walk to Cure Diabetes.”

JDRF is the leading global organization funding T1D research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D.
