Three-time Academic All-American, Ph.D. student, and punter Mike Sadler from Grand Rapids was attracted to MSU for its academic opportunities, believing football would be temporary, but a college education would serve him for a lifetime.
- Graduated in May with bachelor’s degree in applied engineering sciences while maintaining 3.97 GPA
- Currently pursuing Ph.D. in economics
- Named to 2013 Capital One Division I Academic All-America First Team
- First player in program history to garner Academic All-American accolades on three occasions
- Ranks third in Big Ten and 37th in NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision in punting with 42.4-yard average
