ESPN2's 'Numbers Never Lie' to broadcast live Sept. 26 from the MSU Union

This year's Homecoming theme "Spartans Make Headlines" will be taken to a whole new level Sept. 26.

As part of her visit back to her alma mater, the 2014 Homecoming grand marshal, Jemele Hill, '97, will host her ESPN2 show "Numbers Never Lie" with cohost Michael Smith live from noon to 1 p.m. at the MSU Union.

The broadcast will take place in the main lounge.

Students, staff, faculty, alumni and fans are invited to attend the live broadcast. Since seating is limited, it is encouraged those wishing to attend get there early. Check-in starts at 10 a.m.

Special guests of the show include MSU men's head basketball coach Tom Izzo, head football coach Mark Dantonio, former Spartans and Sparty. There also will be free giveaways for those in attendance.

Following the the broadcast, Hill will be taping a segment with WKAR's Al Martin for an upcoming episode of "Current Sports" at 2:30 p.m. in WKAR Studio F of the Communication Arts and Sciences Building. An audience is welcomed, but seating is limited. Audience check-in begins at 1:30 p.m. and all audience members must be checked in by 2 p.m. Check-in will take place in the south lobby of the Communication Arts and Sciences Building. Later on, at 6 p.m., Hill will kick off the 2014 Homecoming parade as it marches through downtown East Lansing and MSU's campus. 

While at MSU, Hill was a regular columnist for The State News and received her degree in journalism from MSU’s College of Communication Arts and Sciences. She joined ESPN in November 2006 as a national columnist on ESPN.com and has made regular appearances on television including "SportsCenter," "ESPN First Take," "Jim Rome is Burning" and "Outside the Lines."
