MSU Extension is offering a new internship program to train the next generation of agriculture and agribusiness professionals. This summer, seven students will gain hands-on career experience from MSU Extension educators throughout the state. The educators will host each student and offer training and guidance along the way.
Students from the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources applied for the positions. The seven chosen applicants come from a variety of backgrounds, but all have a passion for agriculture.
Interns will work with educators on daily educational programming, applied research, demonstration trials, data collection, record keeping and much more.
This summer's interns are:
- Robert Bruhn, a biosystems and agricultural engineering major from Auburn Hills, Mich., who will work with educators in Antrim, Leelanau and Wexford counties.
- Riley Collins, an animal science major from Commerce Township, Mich., who will work with educators in Jackson, Lenawee and Washtenaw counties.
- Lindsey Garner, an agriscience education major from Byron, Mich., who will work with educators in Clinton, Ingham, Gratiot and Isabella counties.
