MSU’s Home for the Holidays offers nostalgic trip to Christmas past

The MSU College of Music visits the Christmas of old this holiday season with its annual MSU’s Home for the Holidays performance at 8 p.m. Dec. 7 in Wharton Center’s Cobb Great Hall.

The interactive evening, which is part of the College of Music’s MSU Federal Credit Union Showcase Series, will offer an array of traditional holiday music, sing-alongs, story telling and a special visit from old Saint Nick. Audience members will be given a free ornament and children will be invited on stage during the performance to decorate the tree.

“This is a delightful show for all ages,” says director and co-writer Kevin Noe, professor of music and director of MSU orchestras. “Through the lens of the special memories of childhood, the audience will be taken on a nostalgic trip to the Christmas of old. We are hoping to create an annual tradition for families in our community that will jump start our patrons into the Christmas season.”

To wish the community a “Merry Christmas” from the MSU College of Music, there will be many different ensembles taking the stage, such as the symphony orchestra, children’s choir, state singers and more.

Tickets are available at Wharton Center Box Office or online.
