MSU SNAPP sports camp features former MSU athletes

A Michigan State University sports camp is going to the “dawgs.”

The Spartan Nutrition and Performance Program, also known as SNAPP, is teaming with the Spartan Dawgs, former MSU athletes who will share their knowledge and expertise with the young athletes taking part in the program.

SNAPP provides quality sports performance training, testing and sports nutrition information to area athletes. In the past year, hundreds of mid-Michigan youth have benefited from the SNAPP Speed and Athletic Enhancement camps.

These camps occur Sunday evenings in group settings and focus on the fundamentals of athletic movement – speed, agility, body awareness, body stability and coordination, quickness and lower body power.

Topics related to sports nutrition and mental skills also are addressed.

The Spartan Dawgs are former MSU basketball players Andre Hutson and Tim Bograkos and former football player T.J. Duckett.

Training sessions are open to athletes ages 10 to 18. Programs begin Sept. 8 and continue through Oct. 27. Prices are four sessions for $80; six for $99; and eight for $130.

Interested athletes should apply now, as space is limited.
