Holiday Arts and Crafts Show brings holiday cheer to East Lansing

Where’s the best place to find holiday cheer on the banks of the Red Cedar? The MSU Annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Show, of course!

This year, the 50th anniversary of the show ran Dec. 7- 8 at the MSU Union. The craft show took up four levels of the Union, making it one of the largest craft shows in the area. With ample amounts of crafters in every corner, it’s a crowd favorite for those who are doing some serious holiday shopping or just casually browsing.

The craft show is put on by the University Activities Board. The UAB provides free or low-cost entertainment options for late nights and weekends. Some benefit students and some benefit the general public, like the craft show.

Thanks to the dedicated students who comprise the UAB, the event was a success.

“Friday, the day before the show, all of us make sure all the booths are set up and everybody gets an equal 8-by-5 space,” said Jordan Hensley, spirit and traditions director for the UAB. “Also Friday night, we have to direct the vendors for parking and setup. During the show, we have information booths set up on each floor and we have people walking around making sure everything runs smoothly.”
