A Michigan State University student has been named a finalist for the prestigious Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship.
One of 40 finalists from across the nation, Erica Zentner will travel to Arlington, Va., to complete final interviews on May 3. Only 20 Pickering Fellows will be selected.
Zentner, a graduate of Clarkston High School, is a junior member of the Honors College double majoring in international relations and political theory and constitutional democracy in James Madison College.
While at MSU, Zentner has participated in two study abroad programs, cultivating her interests in international security and diplomacy. Zentner plans to pursue a master’s degree in international affairs with a focus on security studies.
The Pickering Fellowship program, which recruits talented undergraduates with a passion for international relations, is funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. The fellowship award provides up to $40,000 annually for academic expenses, covering the last year of undergraduate study and first year of graduate study or the first and second year of graduate study.
