The MSU Institute of International Health has been collecting medical textbook donations from students for the past few months.
In May, many of the textbooks were given to Cuba’s School of Public Health in Havana. MSU student Taran Silva coordinated the transportation of the books.
Silva was in Havana as part of the cultural and sustainable development study abroad course.
IIH director Reza Nassiri is developing a new study abroad program in Cuba that would partner with the health institute. The program is expected to begin in 2014.
