Bus service schedule changes for spring break

CATA's Spartan Service - additional bus service that operates only during MSU fall and spring semesters - will not operate Mar. 4-10. CATA will reduce service levels on several routes for the one-week period while Michigan State University and Lansing Community College are on spring break.

The following modifications in service will be implemented during the week of Mar. 4. Refer to CATA’s Route Schedule Lookup feature on cata.org for specific timetable changes.

Entertainment Express: Service will operate at a reduced frequency Mar. 7-9 with one trolley traveling the Michigan/Grand River Avenue corridor every 30 minutes from 7:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.

Route 1: Downtown Lansing/Meridian Mall: March 8-9 late-night Spartan Service will not operate. During those days, the last departure from the CATA Transportation Center will be at 10:15 p.m. The final bus leaves the Meridian Mall at 10:55 p.m. ending service at 11:25 p.m. Entertainment Express will be available the nights of March 7-9 until 2:30 a.m.. Throughout the day and evening on March 9, some Route 1 departures may vary by up to 5 minutes while Route 1 Sunday service will operate as usual.

Routes 20, 22 and 23: During the break, these three routes will travel into the MSU-CATA Transportation Center across from Shaw Hall, while continuing to serve the Shaw and Farm boarding area at the corner of Shaw and Farm Lanes. Routes 24 and 25 will continue to travel to Ramp 5 on Red Cedar.

Route 25: North Harrison: Weekday buses will operate every 60 minutes during the day and early evening rather than every 30 minutes. Saturday and Sunday service will operate as usual.

Route 26: Abbot/Chandler: March 4-8, buses will operate every 45 minutes, rather than every 5 to 10 minutes and conclude at 7:20 p.m. at the MSU-CTC/Ramp 1. There will be no Thursday, Friday or Saturday late-night service to downtown East Lansing. Saturday service will end early at 7:15 p.m. at the MSU-CTC/Ramp 1 while Sunday service will operate as usual.

All MSU Campus Service (Routes 30-36, 39, Lot Link and Night Owl): Regular campus service will conclude for the week at 2:30 a.m. Monday morning, March 4, when Routes 34, 35, 36 and Lot Link end service. The ten campus routes/services that serve MSU do not operate during the week of spring break.

Spartan Service Resumes
Lot Link will begin providing campus service at 3 p.m. Mar. 10 and operate until 2 a.m. March 11 when Night Owl service resumes. The weekday Spartan Service provided on Routes 1, 25, 26 and Routes 30, 31, 32, 33 and 39 also resumes March 11. Entertainment Express returns to 15-minute service March 14.
