EAST LANSING, Mich. – Kroger and the Michigan State University Product Center are collaborating to support the state's economy by promoting Michigan-grown and Michigan-made products.
Kroger is the second major retail chain to offer local Michigan products in select stores.
Kroger’s Pure Michigan campaign launched this week and results in more than 55 products – including jams, jellies, honey, pickles, barbecue sauces, mustards and others – selling in 21 Michigan Kroger stores from Bay City to Lansing.
"Experience Pure Michigan" destination displays will promote specific products and the "Pure Michigan" logo. Special tags on products throughout Kroger stores signify items as either Pure Michigan or Michigan-made.
Michigan product availability in Kroger stores is expected to have a $500,000 economic impact statewide. New products carried by Kroger stores will be distributed and stocked by Cherry Capitol Foods of Traverse City through its new distribution facility in DeWitt.
