Agriculture professionals gather to educate wheat growers

East Lansing, Mich. – Agriculture professionals from across the country will gather in Michigan to teach wheat growers how to improve crop yields during meetings held later this month.

Experts from Michigan State University Extension and the Michigan Wheat Program have coordinated these day-long meetings to help wheat growers generate greater profits through higher yields. Topics discussed will include weed and nitrogen management, profitability and disease control.

There will be two opportunities to attend the meeting. They will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on consecutive days in different locations. The first meeting will take place Feb. 27 at the Comfort Inn and Suites at 2424 S. Mission in Mount Pleasant. The second meeting will take place Feb. 28 at Cabela's, 110 Cabela Blvd. E. in Dundee.

The registration fee is $25 per person. Make checks payable to MSU Extension and mail to MSU Extension Sanilac County, 37 Austin St., Sandusky, MI 48471. When registering, attendees should indicate which meeting they are attending. For more information, call (810) 648-2515.
