EAST LANSING, Mich. ― Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s final masterpiece, "The Magic Flute," will be performed by Michigan Opera Theatre at 7:30 p.m. April 21 at Wharton Center’s Cobb Great Hall. The performance will feature a preview dinner at the Christman Lounge. Tickets are available at the Wharton Center Box Office.
As part of its 40th anniversary celebration, Michigan Opera Theatre returns to perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s final masterpiece, The Magic Flute. The piece will be directed by David DiChiera, founder of Michigan Opera Theatre, also the receiver of National Endowment for the Arts Opera Honors 2010.
Originally premiering in 1791, The Magic Flute tells the story of Prince Tamino and the bird-catcher Papageno who travel through Egypt in search of the beautiful Pamina.
