Long before Milton and Dante, early Christian authors wrote about the landscapes and inhabitants of heaven and hell. Apocalypses (from the Greek term for "revelation") of the first and second centuries of the Common Era, relate the details of otherworldly journeys Frilingos will discuss canonical and extracanonical examples, including the Book of Revelation and the Apocalypse of Peter.
