Staff profiles: Bob Hoffman

As the public relations manager at Wharton Center, Bob Hoffman works as the local representative for performances. Many of the shows have national press agents and Hoffman serves as their local contact.

When a performance comes to Wharton Center, Hoffman sets up media interviews with publications across the state. While he’s responsible for publicizing the more than 70 shows that come to campus each year, he also promotes other events sponsored through Wharton Center like the MSU Federal Credit Union Institute for Arts and Creativity.

Hoffman enjoys the community engagement aspect of Wharton Center. Recently, Hoffman went to Okemos High School with actor Stephen Carrasco to talk with students about his experience as a Broadway actor. The 2002 OHS graduate performs in “Young Frankenstein” which is currently showing at Wharton Center.

“That’s kind of fun for me to get out in the community and  to see the passion that the performers have and then also, that passion translates into the students’ passion and excitement for the arts,” Hoffman said.
