EAST LANSING, Mich. – This summer, discovery cruises along Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River will explore lighthouses, islands that used to be amusement parks, the Great Storm of 1913 and many more topics.
Summer Discovery Cruises are educational boat rides that leave from two Metroparks, and this year there are three new cruises:
- Wind, Waves & Weather: A cruise that explores the “why?” behind the wind, waves and weather around us. Discussions will be led by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration National Weather Service meteorologists.
- Detroit River Revival: Explores the amazing ecological recovery made by the Detroit River.
- Handy Billy: A cruise based on the music inspired by the Great Lakes. A group of musical guests will lead sing-a-longs about life aboard ships and the Great Lakes.
