MSUFCU named Outstanding Credit Union of the Year

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State University Federal Credit Union has been recognized with the Michigan Credit Union League’s Outstanding Credit Union of the Year Award.

MSUFCU was recognized for its financial strength and stability, as well as the level of give-back to its membership as evidenced by its low-cost loans and high payment of dividends, the high level of service provided to its members, and showing dedication and support to MSUFCU employees. It was also recognized for its work toward financial literacy for the community and its members and for its many contributions to the local communities and Michigan State University.

MSUFCU’s management team, board and employees are dedicated to their mission ‘to provide superior service while assisting members and employees to achieve financial security, their goals, and ultimately, their dreams.’

“Helping our members achieve their dreams is what credit unions are really about,” McPharlin said.

The MSUFCU, founded in 1937 by a handful of employees of what was then the Michigan State Agricultural College, has become the world’s largest university-based credit union serving the MSU community with a full-range of personal and business accounts. MSUFCU offers a sophisticated online transaction service and more surcharge-free ATMs in the local area than any other institution. It has $1.89 billion in assets and 154,000 worldwide members.
