EAST LANSING, Mich. — Golf Range magazine, trade publication of the Golf Range Association of America, has named Forest Akers Golf Courses’ all-weather, heated, covered driving range as one of the top 100 golf ranges in America.
The 15th annual ranking recognizes golf ranges that are distinguished in the areas of teaching and training, operations and community outreach programs. The ranking was unveiled at the recent GRAA “Solutions Summit” meeting at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla. The golf facilities ranked in the listing are noted for their important roles in grassroots golf, golf club and equipment sales and family recreational programs.
Forest Akers Golf Courses recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of the opening of its all-weather driving range. Featuring 18 heated, covered hitting stalls, the driving range is the first of its kind in mid-Michigan. During the warmer months, Forest Akers offers two additional outdoor golf courses on which to play.
