Fisheries and Wildlife present 'The End of the Line' film

The Michigan State University Department of Fisheries and Wildlife will present a free showing of the documentary film, “The End of the Line” at 7 p.m. April 20 at the East Lansing High School Auditorium. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

The film discusses the world’s fisheries crisis and how consumers can make a difference to ensure fish populations remain viable for future generations. The movie features cinematography shot by National Geographic from around the world.

Following the movie, a panel of sustainable fisheries experts, Bill Taylor, MSU University Distinguished Professor of fisheries and wildlife; Ed McGarrell, MSU professor of criminal justice; Tammy Newcomb, MI Department of Natural Resources and the Environment; Chuck Pistis, MI Sea Grant; and moderator Mike Jones, MSU professor of fisheries and wildlife, will field questions on the world’s fisheries crisis. There will also be a raffle for prizes, seafood educational resources and distribution of seafood pocket guides that outline seafood options considered sustainable, healthy and safe to eat.
