Employee elected as a Kiwanis international trustee

EAST LANSING, Mich.—Sue Petrisin, assistant director for human capital management for Campus Living Services, a department of Residential and Hospitality Services, was recently elected to a three-year term as a Kiwanis International Trustee at the 95th Annual Kiwanis International Convention in Las Vegas. Petrisin will assume her new position Oct. 1.

Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.

As a trustee Petrisin will counsel the district of Indiana, Wisconsin-Upper Michigan, Louisiana-Mississippi and West Tennessee. As a board member, Petrisin will work with others to establish and implement long-range plans for the organization and will work on the development of new programs, such as membership growth and service initiatives.

"I am deeply thankful to Kiwanis for their trust and confidence, and promise to do my best to help lead Kiwanis forward to greatness," Petrisin said. "There are so many throughout this world that need our help, especially children. We need to get on with major growth so that we can more adequately meet those needs."

Petrisin has a master’s degree in human resources and labor relations and bachelor’s degrees in dietetics and food sciences from Michigan State University.

Petrisin has worked with the university since 1985, holding various positions within the Division of Residential and Hospitality Services. In her current role at MSU, Petrisin oversees human resources for 300 full-time employees and 1,000 student employees.
