Brody Square dining hall grand opening Oct. 13

EAST LANSING, Mich. — A grand opening celebration for Michigan State University’s Brody Square dining hall will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13.

After a 15-month renovation, the all-new dining hall offers a variety of dishes that cater to all tastes. Also part of phase 1 renovation is a new student lounge known as the “grotto” and Wi-Fi availability in community spaces.

Phase 2 of the project will include a first-floor Sparty’s Café with a grill, a coffee shop and convenience store, as well as a new computer lab, classrooms and offices.

That part of the project is scheduled to be completed by August 2011.

Speakers for the Oct. 13 event include MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon; Vennie Gore, assistant vice president, Division of Residential and Hospitality Services; and Guy Procopio, director of MSU Culinary Services.

Brody Hall is located at Harrison Avenue and Michigan Avenue on the northwest side of the MSU campus.
