"The Vagina Monologues," a series of monologues based on Eve Ensler's interviews with women on relationships, sex and violence against women, will be performed at 8 p.m., Feb. 12, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Feb. 13 at MSU’s Fairchild Theatre. The production is part of an international effort, V-Day: Until the Violence Stops, to end violence against women and girls.
90 percent of proceeds from the show go to benefit Eve, Inc., a Lansing area women's shelter that provides support, guidance and supplies to women and children in need. The remaining 10 percent of proceeds will benefit V-Days efforts to help the women and girls of the Democratic Republic of Congo where during the last 10 years more than 300,000 Congolese women and girls have been raped, tortured and destroyed.
Tickets are $15 for the general public and $11 for MSU students. Tickets will also be available by cash only at the door before performances.
